{this moment} – Butterflies

{this moment} – A Friday ritual from Soule Mama, one of my favorite bloggers.  A single photo (this time two) – no words – capturing a moment from the week.  A simple, special, extraordinary moment.  A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.  If you’re inspired to do the same, leave a link to your ‘moment’ in the comments for all to find and see.

  1. love!

Here’s our moment…somehow my boys had managed to sneak out of bed without waking me and took making breakfast (pancakes) into their own hands!

So sweet! Love kids curiosity about insects. Playing with bugs – butterflies, water striders, daddy longlegs, etc are some of the strongest memories of my childhood.

  3. We thought we saw a butterfly today, but it turned out to be a moth 🙁

    • The one that we found was a moth as well. A really pretty moth and he stuck around for a while. The Painted Lady we release we got to watch from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly! It was a lot of fun. Love the baby toes in your moment!

  4. Ooooh /butterflies. Pretty. (I’m not looking forward to Lime playing with Insects *shiver* :s )

  5. How cool! So you raised these? My fave insects to play with as a kid were lightening bugs, they were the best!

  8. I love how gently they’re handling the butterflies. Now I want to get some. Happy weekend.

  9. This will be the first spring in four years that I will not be raising painted lady butterflies. I used to do it religiously with my preschool class, they LOVE letting the butterflies go!

Our moment this week was a happy baby finding himself in the mirror:
