LolliDoo Overnight Diaper Giveaway

Today we’re chatting with Alison Manes (former birth doula and mother of 6) and Melissa Morgan (IBCLC, RLC, CLE and mother of 3) behind LolliDoo Diapers about those early days with a new baby.  Everything from breastfeeding a newborn to how often they poop, we’re talking about common questions and concerns during that first 3 months.  One thing’s for sure, besides a leaky boob every new baby needs something to catch what comes out the other end.  LollieDoo has got you and your baby’s bum covered with their Grey Overnight eco-pocket™ with organic cotton liner and hemp Innies™ and they’re giving one away today!  Read on to find out how you can be entered to win and the quick interview I got to have with Alison last night.

Alison and Melissa

TLB: What would you like TLB readers to know about LolliDoo?

Alison:  How much time do we have?  We are a small family run business and it’s our mission to create sustainable and socially conscious re-usable products that improve the health and well being of our children, our environment and our economy.  We strive to support families and our seamstresses all work mostly from home – coming in to the shop once a week or so; oftentimes with nurslings. We are doing our best to be the change that we want to see in the world.

TLB:  What was the hardest part of the early days of having a baby?

Alison:  Sleep deprivation and engorgement

TLB:  When did breastfeeding start to feel easier?

Alison:  Usually within a couple of weeks – a week or two adjustment period and then vast improvement after the initial post partum period ends.

TLB:  What’s your favorite newborn/postpartum tip for new moms?

Alison:  Sleep whenever you can and accept offers of help that don’t include the baby – like have someone do your dishes or prepare your meals so that you can take care of your baby.  Take a BabyMoon. So sleep often and take a BabyMoon.

I would love to try an overnight LolliDoo!! My early day survival tip is let your mom come stay with you!!! It was invaluable to have her (and my dad’s) help for the first couple of weeks. Everything from dishes to dinner to just love and support.

  11. Erin French says:

I’ve been drooling over LolliDoo for awhile, and I’d love to try one on my son!

My survival tip is to accept help! Don’t try to be supermom in the early days, even if you have older children.

  12. Ooh, my daughter is 18 months and cloth diapered and she’s starting to soak a diaper plus insert at night. Would love to try this.

  13. Jennifer says:

Was already following LolliDoo, but left a comment for them!

  14. Michaela says:

Great advice! As a mother to three boys, I would agree big time with letting people help you and asking for help. I also agree with Megan on baby wearing. Especially with other children, that has always been a life saver. My other advice not listed is not to fall into buying all that extra gear you will either use only once or never at all. The next big thing, have date night often. Even if it is at home, with your nursling attached. Take time out to be with your SO and TALK to each other, even if it’s about poop. But the most important thing I have learned with becoming a mom three times over, is cherish every little moment. They aren’t kidding when they say it goes by too fast!

  15. We’re looking for a good overnight diaper. This would be an awesome score!

  16. Erin French says:

I liked LolliDoo on facebook, and left my comment on their page!

We’re about due to buy a few more, and overnight has always been an issue. <3 giveaways!!!

  21. My survival tip is a bed time routine it got dd sleeping through the night very early. I would love to win!

  32. evelyn gehring says:

  33. Samantha says:

  43. Amanda Smith says:

I would LOVE a LolliDo for my DD!

  44. we really need an overnight solution. thanks for the chance!

  45. I’m still in the early stages – my little guy is 5 weeks old. My survival tip to new mommies out there is to soak up every moment. It’s amazing how quickly things change. The first few weeks are a struggle, but totally worth it.

    Also “liked” LolliDoo on Facebook!

  46. liked lollidoo on FB!

  47. Melissa Chausse says:

I want wone of these SO BAD. We currently use dosposables overnight, because although I love my cloth diapers for daytime wearing, my daughter sleeps a long time at night, and with three children all of whom are homeschooled, I need my rest, and don’t want to be woken up with a baby who has soaked through a diaper. I wanted to buy some when I saw your comment about them yesterday, but I need to know they will work before spending money. Hubby had to take a big pay cut so our budget is very thin.
My survival tip for the early days is co-sleeping, I know it is a hot topic, but I coslept with all three of mine and they are healthy and happy, and all slept through the night on their own by the age of 12 months, or sooner.

  48. joanne barton says:

would love to win one of these!

  49. Natalia Collini says:

I’m “in the market” to find the best reusables for my twins that are due in November and would love the opportunity to try out a new brand in my hunt! Go reusable diapers!

  50. Went to LolliDoo, liked it and left a post saying you sent me!

  51. Would love to try out this diaper. My survival tip is to accept any help that’s offered so you can rest.

  52. Melissa Chausse says:

    Following on FB.

  53. I also liked Lollidoo on Facebook.

  54. I really need something that works overnight and I would love to try this! In my early days, the best I had to help was my Post-partum Doula!

  55. Natalia Collini says:

And I’ve liked your page for a second entry! Reusables that are overnight sound very appealing to me because my 15 MO has recently started soaking and soiling her diapers at night just because she’s eating more. Something that offers better protection is something I would LOVE to try and possibly buy.

  56. Jessica Jordan says:

I’ve just started cloth diapering in the last few months and don’t have any overnight diapers yet, so would love to win this!!

  57. Mary Tyree says:

I was told to hold on and keep trying for atleast 3wks, and then it would get so much easier, And It Did!

  58. I would LOVE to try this overnight solution. Looks like a great diaper combo.

  59. Mary Tyree says:

Went to the Lollidoo Facebook page and liked it 🙂

  60. Jessica Jordan says:

    I liked LolliDoo on Facebook!

  61. Sara K. says:

I’ve been looking for a good overnight diaper solution for my little co-sleeping nursling; maybe these diapers will do the trick. My survival tip for the early days is to trust your mothering instincts. I struggled through misinformation, derision (from a family member), low supply/latch issues, and pumping after every feeding for three months before nursing my first daughter to satisfaction at the breast alone. And you know what? IT WAS WORTH IT. The second lactation consultant I met with finally gave me a plan that worked. I always knew that I wanted to nurse my babies. I was surprised to learn how few women even attempt it.

  62. Exclusively cloth diaper but am having trouble at night. Would LOVE to try these

  63. Co-sleeping saved my life. And lanolin.

  64. I also liked Lollidooo FB page!

  65. I would LOVE some overnight diapers. 🙂

  66. Kendra h says:

    Babywearing!

  67. Alexandra says:

THe hardest thing at first was the late night feedings, they always seemed to hurt more then during the day. I would cringe as my daughter would latch on and try not to cry! I really felt like I was in the groove of it, when we could just cuddle and go back to sleep while she nursed.
I would love to try the overnight diaper. My little one is still a heavy wetter at night, so I have been “double stuffing” her diaper to avoid leaks. These look like they would be much less thick on her!

  68. I LOVE lollidoos!!!! They are super soft & absorbant. I’m just starting to build my stash of but a have ways to go! I’d love this one- the ones I have right now were all bought second hand. And my early baby survival tips- baby wearing & co-sleeping!

  69. Sleep when they sleep! And never refuse an ice pack for your lady bits! You will LOVE IT!!

  70. Liked them on fb too 🙂

  71. Sarah Saucedo says:

went to lollidoo on fb and liked it 🙂

  72. Heidi Berard says:

Co-sleeping or bed sharing and breastfeeding and baby wearing and swaddling. Those are my tips to survive the early days! Or and taking a bath or shower with baby. 🙂

  73. Sarah Saucedo says:

i love lollidoo overnights! i need another!

  74. Heidi Berard says:

    I liked LolliDoo on Facebook!

  75. Jamila Zuwayed says:

Co sleeping saved my sanity during the first few weeks. Nursing a baby to sleep was the only way I got more than 4 hours of sleep

  76. Jamila Zuwayed says:

Liked Lollidoo diaper on facebook 🙂

  77. Sandra Jean says:

We would love an overnight diaper! Aoife Lou loves to sleep, but hates feeling wet! Her hemp/cotton prefolds keep her from leaking, but an overnight pocket diaper would be wonderful!

  78. Sherice Parrott says:

I would love to try this out on my 9 month old! Early Days Survival Tip: Be still and listen. Follow your Mama heart. <3

  79. Danielle Thompson says:

I have 4 babies and the survival tip changes every time because my world does. If I were to think back though to my first it would be to clean less and cuddle more!

  80. Sandra Jean says:

I also like LolliDoo Diapers on Facebook! Yay for good overnight cloth diapers!

  81. I would love to try this. I dont have a survival tip because i am expecting in 6 weeks i will be a new first time mommy. So excited

  82. Stacy Bolyard says:

    Enjoyed the read!

  83. Protein shakes are my early days survival staples. Easier to drink one of those then try and breastfeed while eating (while wincing from sore nipple.)

  84. Looking for new overnight options!
    Would love to try!

  85. Jamie Wilson says:

I’m in need of an overnight diaper solution as we are currently battling leaks almost nightly. My early days survival tip is to use any available resources. I had a C-section and it took 6 days for my milk to come in. If it weren’t for the wonderful LC at our breastfeeding support center I probably would have given up on trying to nurse. She gave us an SNS tube which was a miracle tool. We’re now 8 months going strong, and hoping to make it to 2 years.

  86. LolliDoo Diapers have been liked!

  87. Stacy Bolyard says:

    I liked on Facebook!

  88. Kelly m says:

I would love to try an overnight diaper. I have to use disposables at night because I haven’t found a good option for heavy wetters.

  89. Jamie Wilson says:

I liked LolliDoo’s page and let them know TLB sent me 🙂

  90. DeRae M. says:

Would love to add another to my stash. 😉

  91. DeRae M. says:

  92. Left a comment to let them know you sent me. 🙂 Great site! Thanks!

  93. My little girl is such a heavy overnight wetter..this would be great!

  94. Awesome product! My tip is to don’t be afraid to pass the baby to dad & go catch a couple of hours of sleep! (even if it’s in the middle of the day!) A rested mom is a less-frazzled mom!

  95. Jess Judson says:

Great giveaway! I would love to try this out on my son!

  96. Kandi Broersma says:

I LOVE this diaper! I’ve never seen one with the fleece already part of the diaper! It’s a great idea! I hope we get to try it! 🙂
    My tips: co-sleeping and babywearing!

  97. My tip is to nurse on demand. Take advantge of those cluster feedings and relax, read, blog, surf the internet or just cuddle with your baby. Before you know it those days will be gone and your baby or toddler will always be on the go!

  98. I’d love one of these! My 15 month old needs a night time diaper!

  99. Kandi Broersma says:

Just liked them on Facebook and left a comment!

  100. Melissa Husges says:

Feed your freezer before baby comes! Double your recipes and put half in the freezer to save for those newborn days when no one feels like cooking. We got tons of visitors and little gifts, but no meals, so it was nice to have stuff ready to go in the freezer.

Ps I’d also LOVE an overnight dipe! 🙂

  101. Would love one of these overnights for my son!

  102. I am so in need of an overnight diaper, and would love to try this one.

  103. Jennifer Laur says:

my early day survival tip is to have healthy food prepared before hand. healthy food makes a HUGE difference in recovery

  104. Vanessa says:

These sound wonderful! 🙂 A helpful tip I received from a midwife is to put nipple cream on baby’s butt to make it easier to wipe off the meconium!

  105. my early days survival tip is sleep! and take any offer of anything. 5 days after my lo was born, my grandma came over and just held her for 2 hours so i could take an uninterrupted nap! (allisonmdodge at gmail dot com)

  106. Vanessa says:

I liked LolliDoo Diapers on fb and left a comment on their page that you sent me! 🙂

  109. Leslie Gluck says:

My tip is too have support, someone who can bring a meal over or just look after your baby for few minutes, so you can shower or just take a nap!

  110. Leslie Gluck says:

    I liked Lollidoo on FB

  111. melissa husges says:

    Just liked lollidoo on facebook!

  112. I love Lollidoo overnights and have 3 already, I’d love another.
My advice to new moms is to find a La Lache group before you have the baby and start going to meeting right when baby is born (or before). Getting advice from other experienced breastfeeding moms is the best!!

  113. Jennifer says:

Tip: having a doula or other trained lactation specialist on hand gives a tired, new mom more confidence with breastfeeding especially, and just having a friend to chat with helps.

and of course the popular (let elusive) SLEEP =)

  114. April W. says:

Thank you for this giveaway! 🙂 My survival tip is let others help you! And ask for help if you need it. Meals, holding the baby so you can shower once in awhile, doing a load of laundry… whatever takes the load off of you a little bit or lets you spend more time just enjoying your baby. Anything to lift the burden a little bit.

  115. Jennifer says:

    follow Lollidoo on FB!

  116. I love that the overnight is 300-weight and doesn’t require a cover!

Early days survival tip would be to have foods already prepared and frozen. That way you’ve always got good stuff to eat and don’t have to waste time cooking.

  117. I “Liked” LolliDoo diapers on FB.

  118. Shannon B says:

I liked LolliDoo and told them you sent me!

  119. Shannon B says:

    Please pick me!

  120. Dani McGarry says:

I wish someone had told me that my baby being fussy at the breast and popping on and off does not mean that she doesn’t want to nurse. My first time nursing baby would do that and I got so frustrated that I finally gave up. Now when my second baby does that I know that it could be any number of reasons why. I just try to remain calm and patient and keep offering her the breast as many times as it takes 🙂

we love cloth diapers! thank you!

  121. Heather T says:

I have been wanting to use cloth diapers since my 2 yr old was born but EVERYONE scared me into disposbles, now 2 yrs later and another baby I’ve relized that just for my son we’ve spent over $1,ooo in diapers, lately he has been comlaining that his penis hurts, my fear is that it’s the diapers. I want to swtich to CD but don’t know where to start, who’s to use, or how to clean them. Hopefully winning one will help put us in the right direction. Thank you! (I also went to LolliDoo 🙂 ty)

  122. Dani McGarry says:

    I “like” LolliDoo on Facebook!

  123. Sarah McNeil says:

I would be so grateful if I won this diaper! My tip would be to take any offers of help. Even though you are tired, try and enjoy ever little moment- it can be very overwhelming at first but it gets easier!

  124. Sarah McNeil says:

Went to Lollidoo diapers and told them you sent me! Fingers crossed!

  125. I would love to win this for my heavy wetter. Liked and commenting on.facebook too.

  126. commented on fb 🙂

  127. We cd mainly for cost efficiency, so I don’t get to try the fancy diapers. I would LOVE to get one of these for my chubster. Thanks, TLB!

  128. I also ‘liked’ lollidoo on fb. Thanks again!

  129. my favorite early tip is agreed with Allison. definitely sleep as much as you can. and if you have a s.o. with you, maybe they can bring you water and the painmeds. i sure did need some ibuprofen after my first one. sunny side up and episiotomy. after the 6 hours were up i was almost in tears. and i have a HIGH threshold for pain. but after the lochia business is done, it does get easier!

  130. These look so great!
And – cosleeping was/is huge for me and my little one. Though there wasn’t really much sleep happening for me in those early months, the ability to rest a little with the baby was paramount.

  131. I’d love to try this out on my 9 month old twin girls- I’m trying to find the right overnight solution!

  132. i liked lollido

  133. Laura H. says:

I cloth diaper and always love trying new fluff.

Tip: Don’t worry about the housework. If someone says anything give suggestions as to what they can clean.

  134. Sarah L says:

oh i’d love one of these diapers! my survival tip is definitely sleep when you can and ask for help so that you have time to sleep, especially if you have a colicky/refluxy/fussy baby, or older children. and drink lots of water!

  135. I’d love to win this diaper! I have just recently started cd’ing and have not braved over-nights. Truthfully I’m not willing to purchase an “overnight” product without first trying it out. Please pick me! 🙂

  136. Rachel N says:

I would love to try this out! My survival tip is to invest in a good wrap or sling so that you can carry baby around and still have your hands free.

  137. Rachel N says:

I like lollidoo on FB (Rachel Neufeld) and wrote on their wall

  138. Lisa Letzelter says:

Would love to win your diaper. We mostly use pre-folds right now since they’re cheaper.

  139. Lisa Letzelter says:

    Liked you on FB.

  140. Megan H says:

I would love on of these for my little girl! My survival tip is like alot of other women’s comments, but definitely don’t be afraid to ask for help. Let other people do the cleaning so you can spend time in bed with baby!

  141. Megan H says:

    I likes lollido on facebook

  142. Melanie says:

    I want to win one!!!

  143. Melanie says:

    I liked on facebook!

  144. Amber Houser says:

I would love to try this diaper! Hmm early days survival tip.. don’t be afraid to ask for help, don’t be discouraged if things are harder/different than you thought they would be, it takes time to get into a groove that works for everyone!

  145. Amber Houser says:

    I liked lollidoo on Facebook!

  146. I like LolliDoo Diapers on Facebook! They know you sent me!!

  147. My early days survival tip is if your baby is just fussing in his sleep its okay to let him/her be (unless they wake up and/or actually crying)!!! So many times I picked my baby up while just fussing in his sleep and I would wake him up and have trouble getting him back to sleep! We both would have gotten much more sleep in the beginning if I let his natural sleep cycle take its course!

  148. Nicky Nygren says:

Looks cute and practical. Hope I win! I also “Liked” LolliDoo on FB.

  149. love this! hmm.. the best tip would be COSLEEP! it made the first few weeks so much smoother!

  150. I’d love to try a new overnight option.

  151. Liked on Facebook

  152. Bradie Hansen says:

This is great!! I need help with overnight diapering. I’ve not hit it right yet, but would love to try this product. And tip… I wish I had of known or believed with my first what I got with my second- just roll with it, don’t worry about schedules and timelines… Just nurse when baby wants, sleep when baby sleeps, accept help from trusted friends and ignore the clock. Those early months are surreal and beautiful…

  153. Bradie Hansen says:

And, now I’m a fan on FB.

  154. Jacqueline says:

    i love lollidoos!
my survival tip is to just relax, and when in doubt – nurse the baby. don’t worry about “schedules” or anything like that. 🙂

  155. Jacqueline says:

already a fan on facebook. 🙂

  156. Emily F. says:

I want this! 🙂 My early day survival tip: Know when to ask for help, and know when to say NO. Visitors were the most stressful thing for me…until I finally realized it was not my job in this life to show my baby to people! Also I started asking those who came over to bring food, or help with my chores…I was amazed at how most were happy to help!

  157. Emily F. says:

also went and “liked” on FB!

  158. Like LolliDoo on FB and Love TLB!

  159. Brenna D says:

I would love to try these on my baby! I’m new to cloth diapers and trying out all types, I would love to see how these work!

  160. Brenna D says:

    I liked LolliDoo on Facebook!

  161. I’ve really wanted to try one of these for overnight! I wish I had prepared and frozen more meals in advance before the birth of my second last fall. I also wish I had thought of more ways to entertain my first after my second was born–though tandem nursing keeps everyone entertained!

  162. domestic diva says:

    Lovely! Thanks for the chance.

  163. My biggest tip is ask people for help. If someone offers to help you, then have them do something useful like vacuuming. I also made about 2 weeks worth of freezer meals, and those were a huge help to me.
