Breastfeeding and biting- mistakes, surviving, and what I’ve learned
Biting can be a big concern with breastfeeding. I’ve been bitten and lived to tell about it. Some of what I’ve learned, mistakes and all, when it comes to my breastfeeding journey.
I can’t wait to stop writing about breastfeeding in public
Some day I won’t write another thing about breastfeeding in public. Because I won’t have to. Eventually, some day, everyone will have grown weary of the debate and realize just how silly it is. I decided to see what a larger sample size thought of the issue and how breastfeeding in public compared to these body functions commonly argued as being equally as disgusting (their words, not mine) as breastfeeding in public and share the results.
Exploring the “body fluids” debate about breastfeeding in public
To help anyone still confused, anyone who may be thinking breastfeeding in public is like defecating in public, urinating in public, masturbation/oral sex in public, or sex in public, I’ve put together a couple of tables to break it down.
Boobs- Function and Pleasure
The dual nature of the human breast is one that we have a really, really hard time with in most Westernized countries. Breastfeeding moms are asked to cover up or kicked out of various places, yet we use bikini clad models to sell any number of things. With the vastly sexualized nature of the breast, is it any wonder that I have client after client who is concerned that nursing will feel sexual to her, or that she won’t be able to still be attractive if she’s nursing?
